Hydrant Painting
The work included in the basic program shall be performed for fire hydrant maintenance. This consists of wet and/or dry abrasive blasting, one prime coat and up to two finished coats. All work conforms to the accepted practices for abrasive blasting and painting hydrants.
Scope of work
This program includes abrasive blasting for optimal bonding of the prime coat. One coating of the primer material is applied within 30 minutes of abrasive blasting. Within 24 to 48 hours after the primer is applied, one spray top coat is applied and followed up with a second finished coat as needed. Our work is performed as weather permits.
In addition to superior products, and top quality workmanship, GIANT is responsible for reasonable cleanup of excess abrasive blasting material from surrounding work areas. GIANT will provide reasonable protection to the work areas as needed. GIANT also takes precautionary measures to protect the turf and/or landscaping from overspray of all coatings. A ten-inch area around the base of a fire-hydrant is exempt from the above, as shown in pictures.

GIANT currently offers Hydrant Painting in our home state of Illinois (IL) we also serve California (CA), Indiana (IN), Ohio (OH), Texas (TX), and Wisconsin (WI). GIANT is growing and will travel. We do have a $350 minimum charge plus a mobilization fee for jobs outside a 40 mile radius of Mundelein, IL.
Water Tower and Tank Cleaning
Our Program consists of furnishing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, incidentals and expertise necessary for the cleaning of towers. Our specified services also include a mold and mildew inhibitor included in the price.
Scope of Work
The work included in the ground storage tank program shall be complete powerwashing which consists of a low pressure pre-wash application of the cleaning agent know as Challenger, followed up with a high pressure water rinse. GIANT will provide reasonable protection, as seen needed, to any sidewalk, driveway, paved area, turf and/or landscaping so spray material does not harm previously mentioned areas. GIANT is proud to use the latest in environmentally safe cleaning products.
The cleaning agent that GIANT uses as a prewash is known as Challenger which is a water based "catalytic" cleaner that continues to work while the surface remains wet. Challenger is more effective than many hazardous solvent based cleaners. This product will not harm plants or foliage. It is also USDA approved not to mention biodegradable.
Unlike our competitors GIANT always includes in our final rinse of D/2 Architectural Antimicrobial mold and mildew bio-wash inhibitor at no extra charge. This removes organic growth from most surfaces including water towers and ground storage tanks, also serving as a barrier to slow further growth. Lasts 5 times longer than bleach, peroxide and powerwashing alone. D/2 is safe to use near grass, landscape plants, and pets. D/2 IS EPA APPROVED! US EPA Registration NO. 56782-2.
